As part of our ongoing effort to enhance or improve our healthcare offerings, we have carefully reviewed our benefit options and are making benefit option changes for 2025 to ensure that you continue to receive not just care, but the best care.
1. Changes to Benefit Options
After a thorough analysis, we have decided to streamline our benefit options by merging or joining some of our existing plans to better serve you. Specifically, Value Option will be merged or joined with the Platinum Enhanced Option, forming a new benefit option called the Value Platinum Plan. Similarly, the Plus Option is being removed and being incorporated into Titanium Executive Plan.
In summary, for 2025 Sizwe Hosmed’s options or plans will be six namely:
- Access Core (Hospital Plan)
- Gold Ascend/EDO Range
- Access Saver
- Essential Copper
- Value Platinum Range
- Titanium Executive
1.1. Impact on Value Option Members
As a result of the changes, you and your dependents will be transitioned or moved to the Gold Ascend Plan, effective 1 January 2025.
1.2. About the Gold Ascend Plan
The Gold Ascend Plan is our affordable traditional plan, providing a wide range of in-hospital and out-of-hospital benefits at affordable rates.
Out-of-Hospital Benefits:
- GP and specialist
- Chronic medication, dental, and optometry
- Maternity and wellness
- Access to our extensive network of service providers and
In-Hospital Benefits:
Hospital admissions for both critical and minor procedures, with cover for intensive care, high care, and general
- Cancer treatment, mental health services, radiology and many other in-hospital related services.
1.3. Gold Ascend Contributions
The Gold Ascend Option offers excellent value while ensuring access to quality care at affordable rates.

2. Transition Deadline and Concession
You have until 11 December 2024 to make the transition or move into a new benefit option. However, the Scheme will make a concession and allow you until 31 March 2025 to upgrade to a benefit of your choice.
3. Transition Process
The process you will need to follow is:
