2. Why is Sizwe Hosmed transitioning to self-administration?
Sizwe Hosmed is transitioning to self-administration as part of its journey to strengthen the Scheme, take greater ownership of its operations and enhance the experience we deliver to our members and stakeholders.
The transition creates an opportunity to build a more responsive, connected and accountable organisation that is better positioned to serve our members today and into the future.
3. When will Sizwe Hosmed move to self-administration?
Sizwe Hosmed will transition to self-administration from 01 August 2026
We will keep members and stakeholders informed of important milestones and developments throughout the transition.
4. What does this mean for me as a member?

The transition to self-administration is intended to strengthen how Sizwe Hosmed operates and enhance how we serve you.
You can continue to rely on Sizwe Hosmed to support your healthcare journey and provide access to the benefits and services available to you.
We will communicate any changes that directly affect you and provide you with the information and support you need.
5. Will my healthcare benefits change?
The transition to self-administration does not change your healthcare benefits.
Your benefits remain subject to the rules of the Scheme and the terms and conditions applicable to your chosen option.
Should there be any changes to your benefits in the future, these will be communicated to you.
6. Will my membership be affected?
Your membership with Sizwe Hosmed will continue.
The transition to self-administration focuses on how the Scheme is administered and operated. Our commitment to supporting you as a member remains unchanged.
7. Will my contributions change because of self-administration?
The transition to self-administration does not mean that your contributions will change.
Any future changes to contributions will be communicated to members in accordance with the Scheme’s normal processes.
8. Will I still be able to access my healthcare providers?
Our commitment remains to support members in accessing the healthcare services available to them.
If there are any changes to provider arrangements or processes that affect members, we will communicate these clearly and in advance where possible.
9. Will the way I submit claims change?
The transition to self-administration may result in changes to certain administrative processes.
Where a process that you currently use is changing, we will provide clear information about what is changing, when it will take effect and what you need to do.
10. Will I have to register again on the Member Portal?
If any action is required of you as a member, we will communicate it clearly and provide the necessary guidance.
11. Will I still be able to contact Sizwe Hosmed if I have a question?
Yes.
We remain available to support you and will continue to provide channels for contacting us.
If any contact details or service channels change as a result of the transition, we will communicate these changes and provide you with the relevant information.
12. Will the transition affect my authorisations or access to healthcare services?
Our commitment is to support continuity of healthcare services for our members.
If there are changes to authorisation processes or other administrative requirements, we will communicate these clearly and provide guidance on what you need to do.
13. Will the transition affect my chronic medication?
Your access to your healthcare benefits remains our priority.
If there are any changes to the processes for registering or managing chronic medication, these will be communicated to affected members with appropriate guidance.
