Data Analyst

Purpose of the role:

To provide specialist knowledge of extracting, interpreting, analysing, and validating data with the purpose of providing actionable insights that will help drive informed decision-making within the Scheme. You will work in collaboration with the Scheme’s stakeholders, internally and externally, to understand their data needs, develop analytical solutions, and develop specific reports in a clear manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, analyse and interpret imported data to identify utilisation trends, cost drivers, high-risk members and claim patterns.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to design and implement tools for the identification and mitigation of risks relating to, but not limited to, fraud, waste, and abuse.
• Analyze, integrate, and manage data systems to inform future decisions in the Scheme.
• Form part of the product design team, using technical & statistical data to enhance product development.
• Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and ensure that appropriate operational controls are implemented to address new requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQFL7) in Information Systems/Computer Science or Statistics.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in data analytics or business intelligence
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in the medical aid or insurance industry
