Dear Valued Provider,
We are pleased to inform you that the Gauteng court has officially confirmed the curatorship of Sizwe Hosmed on 09 October 2025. The curatorship was provisional, meaning it was temporary in nature.
This marks a significant and positive step forward for the Scheme and members. Now that it is confirmed, the curatorship provides greater stability, structure, and assurance for all members.
It affords the Curator greater confidence to continue with her action plans aimed at restoring the Scheme’s confidence among stakeholders, restoring solvency and long-term sustainability.
Most importantly, Sizwe Hosmed remains fully operational. Pre-authorisations, claims, and other services are continuing. Our commitment to our members remains unchanged. We are still here and still caring for our members.
In many instances, Curatorship has had a positive impact on schemes – turning them around and ensuring their sustainability.
We’re proud of the rich and comprehensive benefits that Sizwe Hosmed offers, including hospital-at-home care, personalised support, adult prevention and screenings, comprehensive wellness for children of all ages, and extensive maternity care. For more information, click here.
We’re still one of the most affordable Schemes in the market. To compare, click here.
We are committed to giving our members more value and support – even in 2026. That is why we have announced a 5% increase in member benefits, effective January 1, 2026. This means they will enjoy enhanced access and greater utilisation across all their benefits — from GP and specialist consultations, chronic treatment and medication to hospitalisation, maternity and wellness services.
These improvements will help them and their families get even more from their membership, ensuring they receive the care they need, when they need it. We are proud to continue investing in the health and well-being of our members. Thank you for your continued trust and support as we move ahead with renewed purpose.
Warm regards,
Lebogang Mpakathi
