Sizwe Hosmed wishes to inform you of the appointment of Mr Ian Fleming as the new Curator for Sizwe Hosmed by the High Court of South Africa with effect from 11 February 2026. Mr Fleming is tasked with leading the Scheme into its next phase of stability and growth.
He replaces Ms Lebogane Mpakati, who was appointed as the Scheme’s curator on a provisional basis on 04 September 2025 and later confirmed as the curator on 09 October 2025.
The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS), which initiated the changes, reassures members that the changes “have been undertaken strictly within the regulatory mandate of the CMS and in the best interests of members. These developments should not be interpreted as instability within the Scheme, but rather as part of normal regulatory processes aimed at strengthening governance, enforcing accountability, and ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the Scheme.”
Please be assured that this transition does not impact your membership, benefits, claims processing, or the services you receive. Our operations, provider networks, and member support services continue to run normally and remain fully functional.
